December 17, 2007 – San Jose, CA In response to customer inquiries, AnaSpec has expanded its catalog of MMP assay kits to include a new colorimetric assay kit. Building on its established collection of fluorometric MMP assay kits, AnaSpec has introduced its first quantitative and homogeneous colorimetric MMP assay kit. The SensoLyte™ Generic MMP Assay Kit can be used for the continuous spectrophotometric assay of MMP activity (including MMP-1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, and 14) and for the high throughput screening of MMP inducers and inhibitors. The chromogenic substrate is a thiopeptide that is cleaved by the MMPs, releasing a sulfhydryl group. The sulfhydryl group reacts with Ellman’s Reagent (5,5’-dithiobis(2-nitrobenzoic acid). The final product of this reaction, 2-nitro-5-thiobenzoic acid (TNB), can be detected at 412 nm using a microplate reader. The assays are performed in a convenient 96-well microplate format. Company Info AnaSpec, Inc. is a leading provider of integrated proteomics solutions to pharmaceutical, biotech, and academic research institutions throughout the world. With a vision for innovation through synergy, AnaSpec focuses on three core technologies: peptides, detection reagents (dyes, assay kits, & antibodies), and combinatorial chemistry.
