The fresh new site LabOnWeb.com, by Compugen, is now providing a three-tiered report on expressed sequences: Genes are elongated, analyzed for expression patterns, and queried for putative function. This is a very useful service not only for those of us who run experiments and end up having many 'candidates', but also for any molecular biologist evaluating genes - this one-stop analysis gives about everything one can learn from the sequence alone. First, there is 'I-RACE' - the sequence is elongated based on the LEADS databases that Compugen has been developing since 1998. A combination of public and private domain EST and mRNA data, LEADS now represents over 70,000 unique genes. A query sequence is elongated according to the best available transcript in LEADS. For more information, you may see the demo, but it is best - for additional information or in order to submit your own sequence - just to go to www.labonweb.com . To use the site just press "Join" and follow the instructions. IP: 160.45.191.21 |
