I know this is a very general statement. However I've been asked to debate this topic at a seminar ((on the negative side)) and I would love some opinions. Input anyone?

Better for whom? Take a look at Matt Rideley’s book GENOME - Chapter 22 “Free Will” I think you’ll find it very interesting.
