We are currently studying familial spontaneous pneumothorax, MIM *173600. This condition may be a complication of certain diseases, such as alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency, Marfan syndrome, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, or it may occur as an isolated familial disorder. We are interested in collaborating with clinicians who have access to families with two or more members with this disorder, in which secondary causes of pneumothoraces, including the diseases listed above, have been ruled out. We look forward to hearing from you.
