The topics of the meetings range across all areas of current biological research–molecular biology and genetics; bioinformatics and genomics; neuroscience and science policy.
We are seeking a highly motivated, versatile individual to share responsibilities for the Center's program with Dr. Jan Witkowski, the Executive Director. The successful applicant will have special responsibility for the program of meetings on disorders of mental health, with particular emphasis on genetic approaches. The assistant director will be responsible for identifying topics of scientific and clinical importance, interacting with experts on those topics, and preparing and submitting grants to cover a series of meetings. The successful candidate will interact extensively with other divisions of the Laboratory, notably the Meetings and Courses Program, the Dolan DNA Learning Center, and the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. or M.D. and at least three years experience of postdoctoral research in neuroscience, molecular biology or human molecular genetics. Preference will be given to individuals who have research experience in mental health related topics. Scientists working in editorial positions are also invited to apply.
