International Journal of Medical Sciences (ISSN 1449-1907) is a new journal launched in late 2003 publishing peer-reviewed scientific papers of significance in all areas of medical sciences from basic research to clinical and experimental work. Papers in all areas of internal medicine, clinical medicine, emergency medicine, community medicine, epidemiology, medical ethics are welcomed as well as papers in pathology, pharmacology, physiology, immunology, virology, biomedicine and medical informatics.

The Journal publishes online bimonthly. In addition, each year's bound volume is published by Ivyspring International Publisher, an emerging and leading publisher in modern technology, in high-quality printed paper and/or CD-ROM distributed to major libraries in the world.

The Editorial staffs and the publisher are very committed to build the journal as one of leading international journals in medical sciences in the next few years. With the supports of several biotechnology companies, we will expect heavy resource to be channeled into the journal to establish its international prestige. The journal's prestige will be enhanced from arrangements with several organizers of international conferences in publishing selected best papers of the conference proceedings in late this year and next year. The first issue of the journal due to appear in March/April.

Submissions should be done electronically to facilitate very rapid turnaround time that the Journal aims at. Authors should submit PDF (preferred) or Word version of their papers formatted in a convenient style for review process. Manuscripts should be formatted in single space only, font 11 points to 12 points, letter or A4 size. Image and Table file formats can be embedded in the PDF or Word or as GIF. Efforts should be made to minimize the file size of transfer, as review is also done electronically. Hence we prefer images in GIF format rather than TIFF, EPS, and JPEG which are normally much larger. Submission implies that the work has not been previously published or under consideration for publication by other journals, and that the submission has been approved by all co-authors. Manuscripts must be written in standard English. Detailed submission instructions can be found in http://ijms.ivyspring.com

The manuscript should include a title page containing the title of the article; the author's name(s), affiliation(s) with complete addresses, corresponding author's email address, phone/fax number. An abstract consists no more than 250 words where acronyms and complex abbreviations should be avoided. A set of up to 5 keywords should also be provided after the abstract. The author(s) can suggest two or more potential referees with their e-mail addresses, affiliations, homepages or contact information, and if necessary, provide a list of individuals with potential conflict.
