Improving Hospital Capacity Using Care-at-Home Strategies

  September 18, 2024

Xtalks, Online
2024-09-20

In this webinar, the expert speakers will discuss the challenges of inpatient capacity strain, resource constraints and increased hospital length of stay (LOS), and how these challenges are re-shaping organizations care-at-home strategies. The unique perspectives and experiences of the panelists ranging from acute to transitional to post-acute care-at-home programs will enrich the conversation.

Although hospital capacity has increased by 19 percent over the last three years, the labor cost per adjusted hospital discharge has risen by 25 percent. Readmission rates have been on the rise since 2015, and hospitals are facing backlogs and discharge delays, leaving patients waiting hours in the emergency department.

One hospital found that patients spent 65,000 more days in inpatient hospitals than needed. Hospital visits also have risen above pre-pandemic levels and Clinicians (nurses in particular) are getting burnt out and leaving their fields. Therefore, innovative strategies are being explored to administer patient care, specifically with the use of advanced technology and by re-imaging the care delivery model

This webinar will educate the attendees and raise awareness about how innovative tech-enabled home care solutions help strategically address healthcare-related challenges.

Register for this webinar today to gain insights about acute to transitional to post-acute care-at-home programs and novel strategies to navigate the current healthcare landscape.
