  December 01, 2016

Netzealous -MentorHealth, online Event
2017-02-23

Overview:

This webinar will closely examine actual HIPAA enforcement case examples to see what areas of HIPAA compliance were not clearly met. The goal is to help organizations try and avoid HIPAA data breaches. The webinar will cover what requirements organizations need to have in place and how to mitigate their risk. If the subject of an enforcement investigation you will be required to show the government you have all the necessary documentation in place for safeguarding patient Protected Health Information and indicate how you addressed all required security safeguards.

If your healthcare practice, business, or organization needs to learn from mistakes others have made when it comes to not meeting HIPAA compliance requirements, please join us for this informative and interactive course.

Why should you Attend:

More than $50 million in HIPAA fines and penalties have been imposed since the act was created. In 2015, almost 120,000,000 individuals were affected by HIPAA data breaches. This has led to a substantial increase in HIPAA enforcement resulting in much higher fines and penalties. The U.S. Congress has inquired about recent and very sizeable increases in cyber-attacks that inflect the risk of medical identity theft and asked HHS for increased HIPAA enforcement. And with the Phase 2 Audit program underway, selected Covered Entities and Business Associates received written notifications they are going to be audited.

Attendees will leave the course learning how to avoid possible HIPAA fines and penalties by making sure their organization has all the requirements in place for a compliance program.
