Bacteria, Archaea & Phages

  December 05, 2011

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, Cold Spring Harbor, NY
August 21 - 25, 2012

The specific goal of this meeting is to bring together a group of scientists studying diverse aspects of prokaryotic and archaeal biology using the tools of molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, and structure analysis. The meeting is intended to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information and to discuss the latest research findings and technical advances. We encourage the submission of abstracts covering diverse topics and under-represented organisms and particularly encourage junior investigators to present their results at the meeting.

The format of the meeting will include morning and evening sessions, selected from the abstracts, principally on unpublished work. In addition, there will be two poster sessions, held in the afternoons. The organizers will decide the suitability of each abstract for oral or poster presentation, but please specify if you prefer a poster.

Tentative Topics:
Molecular Evolution, Systems Biology & Genomics
Development, Cell Signaling & Cell-Cell Interactions
Mechanism & Regulation of Transcription
Bacterial Metabolism & Physiology
DNA Replication, Recombination & Transposition
Translation & Posttranscriptional Regulation
Bacteriophage Biology
Bacterial Cell Surfaces
