Functional Genomics and Systems Biology

  January 21, 2011

Wellcome Trust, Wellcome Trust Conference Centre, Wellcome Trust Genome Campus, Hinxton, Cambridge, UK
29 November – 1 December 2011

The complete genome sequences of hundreds of organisms have provided the list of components required to make an organism viable.High-throughput functional genomic technologies continue to generate vast amounts of information describing the functions and interactions of these components within the cell. Through the combined use of computational and experimental techniques, we are now beginning to achieve comprehensive mappings of cellular and molecular networks. However, there are major challenges to interpret these data in a biological meaningful fashion: how should we integrate these disparate data sources, and utilise them to improve our understanding of complex biological systems and diseases.

The meeting will take place at the Wellcome Trust Conference Centre, in the convivial setting of the Hinxton Genome Campus where some of the world's leading scientists can discuss advances in their field and learn about recent progress in others.Additional speakers will be selected to speak from submitted abstracts
