2010 Orthopedic Update CME

  July 02, 2009

BC College of Family Physicians, Yellow Cedar Lodge, Terrace BC- Home to Northern Escape Heli-Skiing
January 11 - 15, 2010

Set amidst the Skeena Mountain Range of Terrace BC, this CME will allow family and emergency physicians to receive first-hand educational updates from some of Canada’s leading orthopedic surgeons, emergency physicians and most experienced mountain guides and avalanche experts. The overall objective is to provide the target audience with the opportunity to interact with colleagues and allow for direct one-on-one learning from consultant orthopedic surgeons.

The conference venue is the Yellow Cedar Lodge, home to a relaxed meeting setting.  By restricting the number of delegates to a small group (18), ample opportunity for interactions between the delegates and the faculty exists.  This facility offers accommodations and food and beverage service: participants will be given the opportunity to stay within the venue through packages including three meals daily and accommodations.  The Lodge includes several adventure opportunities including the operations of Northern Escape Heli-Skiing.  Daily in the morning and the afternoon's conference delegates will be educated via exceptional curriculum while by day out enjoy the incredible powder filled surroundings.

This curriculum is designed to suit the educational needs of primary care and emergency physicians working in varied clinical settings. This course will cover multiple orthopedic topics that are relevant to emergency and primary care practice. Particular emphasis will be placed on the latest evidence and the current standards of practice. Through a didactic and case-based approach, this course will harness the unique skill sets of the orthopedic and emergency medicine specialists to review the “not-to-be-missed” injuries.

The curriculum is pending accreditation by the BC College of Family Physicians for the provision of 16 Mainpro-M1 CME credits.
