Applied Bioinformatics & Public Health Microbiology

  November 22, 2007

Wellcome Trust, Wellcome Trust Conference Centre, Hinxton, Cambridge, UK
27th - 29th April 2008

The aim of this meeting is to provide a multi-disciplinary forum, bringing together those involved in public health (microbiologists and epidemiologists), bioinformaticians, technologists and microbiologists from both applied and research communities to highlight recent advances,  identify current issues and consider future needs for public health applications.  This is considered the first step in a process of developing further multi-disciplinary groups focussing on the translation of innovation in bioinformatics and microbiology into public health applications.

The key themes are:

1) Technology-driven bioinformatics

2)  Bioinformatics ‘at the bench’

3) Systems, populations and surveillance
