Keystone Symposia, Breckenridge, Colorado
January 22 - 27, 2007
The most exciting research in cardiovascular biology these days is that designed to elucidate molecular mechanisms of complex diseases. These studies are leading to identification of novel therapeutic targets that can be tested in relevant animal models. Through the use of chemical genomics, small molecules that modulate gene function can be identified. These serve as precursors to novel therapeutics that can be developed for clinical use, in partnership with the pharmaceutical industry. Novel interfaces for cardiovascular biology include neurologic control, cell and tissue engineering and biomaterials (devices). The goal of this meeting is to address these opportunities and interfaces and create opportunities for cardiovascular scientists to interact with leaders in the fields of chemical genomics, tissue engineering and biomaterials, all with the aim of generating new ideas for cardiovascular science and therapeutics.
