Shuldiner: Mapping of complex disease traits in the Old Order Amish; Mario Pirastu: Ten Years in Ogliastra; Four short oral presentations. 3 pm-4 pm Workshop ABI. 4 pm -7 pm Afternoon session: Population structure and computational analysis. Francoise Clerget-Darpoux: Mapping disease genes in a consanguineous population; Joseph Terwilliger: A Complete and Utter refutation of the Fundamental Theorem of the HapMap; Rosario Calderon: Inbreeding and types of human isolation in Spain; Four short oral presentations. May 30 Monday, 9 am – 1 pm Morning session: QTL Mapping. Cornelia van Duijn: Genetic Research in Isolated Populations (GRIP) program; John Blangero: Identification of human quantitative trait loci using extended pedigrees; Ulf Gyllesten: Pattern of linkage disequilibrium and mapping QTL in the Swedish Sami population; Seven short oral presentations. 3 pm-4 pm Workshop ABI. 4 pm -7pm Afternoon session: Anthropological and enviromental issues. Gislie Palsson: Birthmarks and Landmarks: the mapping of isolated gene pools; Fernando Martinez: title to be defined Six short oral presentations. May 31 Tuesday, 9 am-1 pm Morning session: Complex Diseases Studies. Anthony Long: Several thousand individuals, a few hundred SNPs, Notch signaling, and the genetics of complex traits; Alan Wright: title to be defined; Seven oral presentations. 3 pm – 4 pm Closing lecture. Leena Peltonen: from families to population: Impact of disease genes. Closing remarks 4 pm Trip to Cilento National Park and isolated villages (Roscigno)
