Molecular Genetics of Bacteria & Phages

  January 13, 2004

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, Cold Spring Harbor, New York
August 24 - 29, 2004

You are cordially invited to participate in the fifty-seventh meeting on Molecular Genetics of Bacteria & Phages which will be held at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. The meeting will begin on Tuesday, August 24, 2004, and will conclude with lunch on Sunday, August 29. The specific goal of this conference is to bring together a group of scientists studying diverse aspects of prokaryotic growth using the tools of molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, and structure analysis. The meeting is intended to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information and to discuss the latest research findings and technical advances.
We encourage the submission of abstracts covering diverse topics and under-repesented organisms and particularly encourage junior investigators to present their results at the meeting.

Topics include:
Regulation of Transcription Initiation & Elongation
RNA Polymerase: Structure, Function & Catalysis
Post-Transcriptional Control, Ribosomes and Translation
Signaling & Global Circuits
Chaperones, Heat Shock, & Protein Degradation
Cell Surfaces, Secretion, & Import
Cell Division & Development
The Bacterial Genome: Structure, Recombination, & Transposition
Host/Pathogen Interactions

Organized by: Tina Henkin, Catherine Squires & Ryland Young
Invited Speakers: The format of the meeting will include morning and evening sessions, selected from the abstracts, principally on unpublished work. In addition, there will be three poster sessions, held in the afternoons. The organizers will decide the suitability of each abstract for oral or poster presentation, but please specify if you prefer a poster.

Deadline for Abstracts: June 2, 2004

Registration: Register and submit abstracts here
