The Magnetic Microsphere Society, Lyon, France
May 20-22, 2004

This meeting will discuss all aspects of magnetic microspheres and ferrofluids. They include
* Preparation and analysis of magnetic microspheres made from all kinds of materials such as polymers, ceramic, biomaterials, biodegradables, including fluorescent ones.
* Applications covered are molecular biology, in vitro diagnostics, contrast agents in MR imaging, stem cell separation, magnetic drug delivery, toxic metal removal, magnetic cell sorting, hyperthermia treatment, groundwater decontamination and magnetic particle motion analysis, just to name a few.

Organized by: Urs Hafeli, The Cleveland Clinic Foundation
Invited Speakers: Holger Grüll: Magnetic Biochips - A new Option for Sensitive Diagnostics
Jim Watson: Fundamentals and Applications of High Gradient Magnetic Separation
Andreas Jordan: First clinical trial of magnetic fluid hyperthermia (MFH) for local tumor treatment
