International Symposium on Umbilical Cord Blood Transplantation: New Insights and Future Directions
  March 05, 2003

Cancer Research

City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center, Duarte, California
April 25-April 26, 2003

This symposium is intended to review the current status and future direction of basic science and clinical issues that surround Umbilical Cord Blood Stem Cell Transplantation (UCBSCT). Hematologists/oncologists, transplant physicians, basic scientists and other health care professionals interested in stem cell biology and stem cell transplantation will learn about clinical results of umbilical cord transplants, novel treatment regimens and immune reconstitution following cord blood transplantation. Participants of the course will also review ethnic diversity, standards and accreditation and quality assurance in regards to umbilical cord transplantation. Attendees will also analyze stem cell plasticity and discuss the application of cord blood transplantation for sickle cell anemia. Investigators from around the world who work in basic science and clinical areas of UCBSCT will participate in a healthy exchange of data and ideas, working to achieve progress in research and clinical practice within the field, and identify new concepts in cord blood transplantation. We welcome your participation and valuable contribution at the International Symposium on Umbilical Cord Blood Transplantation.
