CHALLENGING VIEWS OF ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE will provide a forum for open-minded, yet specific evaluation of hypotheses concerning the cause of Alzheimer's disease. Proponents and opponents of particular topics will have the opportunity to defend their hypothesis in a friendly, but critical setting.
The meeting will consist of five three-hour sessions. Each session will be devoted to the critical evaluation of a hypothesis, or group of related hypotheses. Discussion will be directed by neutral moderators who will be drawn from outside of the field of Alzheimer's research. Approximately half of each session will be allocated to questions from the audience (both on-site and on-line attendees). There will be a live webcast of the meeting. On-line registrants will be able to contribute directly to the debate by submitting their questions to the moderator during the discussion time.
