MOLECULAR ANALYSIS FOR RESEARCH AND DIAGNOSTICS
  December 05, 2000

Biotechnology

Cambridge Healthtech Institute, San Diego, California
February 14-15, 2001

With the announcement of the working draft human genome this past summer, even greater emphasis is now placed on innovative techniques and applications for carrying out molecular and dynamic analysis of genes, RNA, and proteins. Improvements in technologies for sample preparation, detection of low-copy-number products, and comparison and integration of data on temporal-spatial and other parameters are accelerating this transition. Whether analysis eventually aims at better understanding of biology, target identification or validation, or diagnostics, prognostics, or choosing or monitoring therapies, molecular analysis can be expected to continue an expanded role and to move from research labs into clinics and require higher throughput, greater sensitivity, and robust and cost-effective results. This conference provides a forum for discussion of key developments, promising new technologies, and novel approaches offering benefits for researchers—and ultimately for clinicians and patients.
