	BioMEMS and Biomedical Nanotechnology World 2000 is the first fully comprehensive international meeting, dedicated to these sectors. It features established disciplines, that have already revolutionized medicine, including microfluidics, microarray technology, and biosensors. In parallel, new rapidly emerging areas such as micro/nano technologies for drug delivery and tissue engineering will be a main focus of the conference. Both fundamental science and applicative perspectives will be broadly represented, from the laboratory to the classroom, the commercial world, and the clinic. Novel vistas in the medical practice will be highlighted, with invited presentations from leading clinicians in oncology, cardiology, and anesthesiology. Representatives from federal agencies will discuss funding plans and development strategies.
