Agricultural biotechnology continues to benefit from the insights being developed during the era of the Human Genome Project. The proliferation of mapping, genotyping, and diagnostic methodologies has rapidly expanded the analytical tools available to crop scientists for the analysis and utilization of plant genomes. This meeting will continue to bring world-class researchers together to discuss the status of the field of crop genomics, looking towards the next generation of transgenic crops to keep up with the increasing demand for agricultural products, including plant-produced pharmaceuticals, while protecting the environment and ensuring the safety, security, and diversity of the food supply. |
