IMPACT OF GENOMICS ON MEDICINE | ||||
Cambridge Healthtech Institute
, Amsterdam, The Netherlands May 15-17, 2000 |
||||
As the human genome sequence nears completion, it is possible to begin to see an array of products resulting from the vast sequencing efforts. In addition to identifying a consensus human genome sequence, it is necessary to begin to assign function to genes on a global scale and put this into a network that includes information about proteins and cellular function. Informatics capabilities have developed to handle the volume and diversity of information available. In this meeting, progress in clinical applications in genomics, target validation, and drug development will be highlighted as well as technology advances. |
