Exploiting MOLECULAR DIVERSITY: Refining Small Molecule Libraries

Cambridge Healthtech Institute , San Diego, California
February 7-9, 2000

Few people would question whether combinatorial chemistry is here to stay for drug discovery and development. The real challenge, however, is how to improve the performance of this powerful tool, how to make it as productive as possible, and to assess the contribution of this approach for real results. With greater calls for "smarter" combinatorial chemistry and better recognition of the different requirements between lead discovery and lead optimization libraries, the importance of library design, diversity assessment and other chemoinformatic aspects of the field has increased. Also, as the technology is maturing, less emphasis will be placed on new technical approaches, with a commensurate increase in the reporting of results achieved by endusers. Plan to make use of this meeting as a time-efficient way of keeping up with the latest trends and developments, presented by leading technology developers and experienced endusers.
