CHI's 4th Annual GENE FUNCTIONAL ANALYSIS | ||||
Cambridge Healthtech Institute (CHI)
, San Francisco, CA March 2-3, 2000 |
||||
A number of tools are being employed to study global patterns of gene expression and are used to incorporate some of this information into identifying targets for drug development. In order to do this, it is necessary to know how genes work, what the protein(s) is that the gene codes for, how the gene interacts within the overall cellular network, and how changes of gene expression can reflect the onset of disease. Current strategies are being pursued to study thousands of genes at a time which will change the paradigm in biology and enable researchers to look at global changes. |
