Strategies and Techniques for IDENTIFICATION of NOVEL BIOACTIVE COMPOUNDS

Cambridge Healthtech Institute , Zurich, Switzerland
October 19-20

Program:
The field of high throughput screening for new bioactive compounds has recently experienced unprecedented advances, and this pace will only accelerate over the next few years. The broad application of combinatorial libraries and availability of large compound collections has broken the bottleneck of compound availability. This has driven investments in robotics, miniaturization and redesign of assays to achieve an exponential rise in screening rates such that goals of 100,0000 compounded per day are foreseeable. The explosion of potential new targets that have started to emerge via genomics will further fuel this extraordinary trend. This conference is designed to provide a valuable forum for researchers involved in all aspects of this effort; target identification, assay development, combinatorial library design and synthesis, development of other compound sources automation , chemoinformatics and integration of these components. These developments apply not only to the discovery of novel pharmaceutical compounds, but increasingly is also being applied to the development of agricultural chemicals and a range of other applications
