Strategies and Techniques for IDENTIFICATION of NOVEL BIOACTIVE COMPOUNDS

Cambridge Healthtech Institute , Barcelona, Spain
December 4-5, 1997

Program:
High throughput screening and combinatorial libraries are among the technologies having a dramatic
impact on efforts within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and chemical industries worldwide to
reduce the time and costs associated with initial lead identification and optimization. The conference
will focus on recent developments by leading researchers seeking to identify small molecule leads,
with an emphasis on screening approaches. Natural products, compound collections, and
combinatorial libraries have all proven to be useful sources for potential leads. The program will also
feature talks on target identification, novel assays, robotics and automation, informatics, and data
handling, as well as integrated programs. In addition, there will be workshops and a major trade
exhibition during the meeting. This program offers a unique opportunity to get together with decision
makers and researchers from Europe who are active in these rapidly moving technical areas.
