Program:

Issues Affecting African-Americans, Genome Research Opportunities for HBCUs

This three-day conference, supported by funds from Dept. of Energy, NIH/NCHGR-ELSI, USDA and Research Genetics, Inc., is organized to provide a forum for scientists, community leaders and sociologists to discuss technical, social and ethical issues related to the Human Genome Project (HGP). Presentations and workshop discussions by eminent and recognized leaders will focus on the technological, ethical and social aspects of the HGP with significant opportunities for interaction with students and faculty. In addition to plenary presentations, workshops will provide a forum for interactive discussion and exchange of ideas between panelists and participants.
