Program:
This workshop is the first meeting devoted exclusively to the use and application of magnetic microspheres in the clinical sciences. This meeting brings together scientists from research, universities and industries involved in the magnetic and clinical sciences. The aim is to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and information in this cross-disciplinary field and to promote innovative industrial applications.
Topics will include the fundamental physics behind magnetic targeting and separation, surface and bulk modifications, advanced materials, and microstimulation and micromechanics. All aspects of magnetic particles including their preparation, separation, physical targeting and application will be covered. Their application in drug targeting, radionuclide delivery, magnetic resonance contrast enhancement, hyperthermia treatment, cell separation, bone marrow purging, DNA/RNA purification and other molecular biology techniques will be highlighted.
The program will consist of keynote lectures, invited and contributed talks, and permanent posters.
