Program:
The problems faced in caring for patients with cancer of the lung, breast, prostate, colon, ovary, brain, thyroid and pancreas, as well as melanoma, neuroendocrine tumors, lymphoma and leukemia will be discussed. The use of new radiopharmaceuticals and techniques to solve these problems will be explained.
Registrants will learn which studies are best suited to each problem and how they can be applied to the cost-effective care of patients with cancer. The course will cover all aspects of emission tomography, including PET (positron emission tomography) and SPECT (single photon emission tomography). The use of high energy collimators or coincidence detection with SPECT camera systems for imaging 18-F-FDG will be included.
The course is intended to meet the needs and interests of oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians, pediatricians, internists, pharmacologists, technologists and others involved in the care of patients with cancer.
