HIGH THROUGHPUT SCREENING for Drug Development

Cambridge Healthtech Institute , San Diego, CA USA
May 20-22, 1996

Program:
The development of small molecule combinatorial libraries has given new meaning to what constitutes high throughput rates for drug screening assays, thereby putting added pressure on sample handling, tracking, analytical testing and selection of initial leads for further development. Any screening process, however, is only as good as the quality of the targets and assays being used, and thus this aspect of the process also deserves careful consideration. The most successful efforts will be those which best integrate these and other factors into a cohesive screening program, for which examples from a number of biotech and pharmaceutical companies will be provided. As in previous years, this event will feature a major tradeshow of technology and equipment vendors.
