Novel Cancer Strategies: ANGIOGENESIS ANTAGONISTS

Cambridge Healthtech Institute , Boston, MA USA
April 1-2, 1996

Program:
The pioneering research of Dr. Judah Folkman underlined the dependency of all solid tumors on angiogenesis for growth and metastasis. Recent findings related to the role of angiogenesis in tumor development and metastasis will be covered. An update on the most recent results with antagonists targeting growth factors, cell adhesion molecules, signal transduction pathways, vascular antigens, angiostatin, platelet factor 4, and other new targets will be provided. The difficulties of conducting clinical trials with compounds that will typically be used as adjunctive therapy also will be addressed.
