VACCINES: New Technology and Applications

Cambridge Healthtech Institute , Washington, DC, USA
March 18-20, 1996

Program:
Improved understanding of immunology, virology, genetics and molecular biology, together with advances in vaccine technologies, have opened up the possibility of vaccine development for a variety of infections, as well as cancer and autoimmune disorders, that have proven difficult to treat or prevent. New techniques for vaccine delivery or eliciting mucosal or cellular immunity will be presented, along with a session on T cell vaccines. The third day of the meeting will focus on genetic strategies, including gene sequencing for target identification and the growing experience with genetic immunization.
