PERSPECTIVES ON PROTEIN ENGINEERING / FROM FOLDS TO FUNCTIONS

, MONTPELLIER - MEDITERRANEAN, FRANCE
2-5 MARCH, 1996

Invited Speakers:

Program:

Structural Biologists funded under EU Framework 3 programme are
strongly encouraged to organise one of their annual network meetings
at this venue and to consider presenting significant findings in the
main conference programme. Participants will be receiving an
invitation from the European Commission to this effect. There is the
possibility of a reunion of IMABIO (French Biomolecular Engineering
Programme) scientists as a satellite meeting. This will be descibed at
this site if the meeting is confirmed
2 5
The Perspectives on Protein Engineering conferences started in
Oxford in 1991 and have grown steadily in popularity as a forum for
protein engineers and structural biologists. The scientific programme
is produced mainly from contributed scientific papers. Submission of
abstracts for consideration as full papers, short oral communications
or posters is open to anyone.

The fifth conference will highlight protein
equence-structure-function relationships and biocatalysis, two
important fields of interdisciplinary research at which European
protein scientists excel. Topics presented may include: predicting and
mapping sequence to structure and function (molecular bioinformatics),
protein folds and stability, molecular chaperones, design and
modelling of enzymes, selection from molecular repertoires, signalling
cascades, therapeutic proteins and conjugates, chiral synthesis and
the biotransformation of nucleic acids in molecular biology and
therapy. Abstracts dealing with generic technologies and advances in
methods and applications are particularly encouraged.
