5th International Chromosome 1 Workshop

Sanger Centre , Wellcome Trust Genome Campus, Hinxton, Cambridge, UK
August 5-7, 1999

Program:
The success of last year's Chromosome 1 Workshop, C1W4 [Cytogenet Cell Genet 83:147-175 (1998)], and positive feedback from the chromosome 1 community has prompted the organisation of C1W5. The focus of this years workshop will reflect the dramatic increase in the availability of mapping and sequence data, its analysis and interpretation. It is also intended that the workshop will cover such topics as gene cloning and comparative genomics. The topics below are a suggested guide to workshop sessions:

Progress of chromosome 1 mapping and sequencing
Accessibility of map and sequence information
Sequence analysis and annotation
Data integration
Sequence variation and SNPs
Gene cloning
Comparative genomics

All interested participants are invited to submit an abstract (with the exception of those who have made voluntary contributions) by the 16th of June. A final list of attendees will be selected based upon abstracts received.Abstract decisions will be announced and attendees will be notified by June 30th.
