Program:
The aim of this course is to review recent advances in cancer genetics, based on the notion - now an established fact - that cancer is a genetic disorder of somatic cells. The course will focus particularly on the relative roles of inherited mutations and of somatic mutations in the pathogenesis of malignancy. In order to achieve its educational objectives, the course will comprise three parts: (1) foundations: concentrating on the structure of the genome, the function of genes, and the mechanism of oncogenesis; (2) methodologies: for analyzing the above, improving diagnosis of cancer by mutation analysis and for improving therapy by gene transfer; and (3) systematic review: reporting up-to-date knowledge on individual types of cancer.

Registration :
Pre-registration is preferred. The early registration fee is $250 for physicians (MDs, PhDs, DOs).
