Program:
The discovery of genetic diseases which have their origin in
mitochondrial DNA mutations coupled with the ubiquitous
importance of mitochondria has accelerated studies of
mitochondrial molecular biology. This lecture/laboratory
course will serve to familiarize the attendees with principles
of mitochondrial molecular biology, including mitochondrial
mapping, and the experimental strategies for the study of
genetically normal and abnormal mitochondria.
