Program:
This lecture/laboratory "hands-on" training course will provide specific information on current techniques used for the identification, cloning, transfer, and expression analysis of genes in plants. Basic concepts and practical applications on the use of plant gene transfer as a tool for research in plant molecular biology will be emphasized. The laboratory is integrated with the lecture topics and will serve to provide hands-on experience with the basic steps undertaken in the identification, separation, cloning PCR amplification, transfer, hybridization, and analysis of expression of a gene of interest
