Program:
This eight-day seminar consists of two review courses. You may register for either course individually,
or for both courses with a special reduced registration fee. These courses are designed to provide practitioners with
a thorough review of reproductive endocrinology and of general gynecology. The daily schedule has been planned
to allow afternoons free for enjoying the area s spectacular recreational activities.
REPRODUCTIVE ENDOCRINOLOGY - May 26 - 29
This program will update participants on recent advances in the pathophysiology of hypothalamic, pituitary,
adrenal, and gonadal disorders, with special emphasis on molecular-biological mechanisms. It will stress the
diagnosis and management of hypothalamic dysfunction, pituitary adenoma, ovarian defects, adrenal disease, and
disorders of sexual differentiation. Current advances in in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer will be
investigated, as well as the contemporary management of the infertile couple.
GENERAL GYNECOLOGY - May 30 - June 2
Participants enrolled in this program will gain a thorough review of pelvic anatomy, will learn of the new concepts
in OCs and estrogen replacement and the management of cervical disease. Techniques for hysterectomy, including
the management of common urinary tract injuries, will be discussed, as well as present advances in the management of patients with gynecological malignancies. The pathology and histogenesis of vulvar, cervical, endometrial, and ovarian
cancer will be reviewed, along with the multimodality approach to endometrial and ovarian cancers, integrating
the roles of surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy in treating these malignancies. Additionally, an update on
infectious diseases (including HIV) will be presented and common office-based gynecological problems will be
discussed in detail.
