As another initiative in the Negros Island Region (NIR) we are starting a Feed Laboratory with Farming Research Facility whose framework is outlined. Palinpinon is a target area to plan for Agro-Industrial activity in future.
Feed Perspectives: A basic proximal analyses laboratory for novel feeds vis-a-vis animal trials for testing their nutritive value (NV) will be set up with our Principal at SkyeBlue Internet funded in contract form inside a 'cooperative research centre (CRC)-like' organization consulting in the Philippines (PH).
1. Grasses/Legume pasture in acreage for long fibres (known for their advantage for acetate production for milk production in terms of 'rafts' produced in the microbially digesting rumen stomach) and N supplementation of fibrous crop residue (FCR) feeds using typical commercial paddocks for extra cost-efficiency (a combination is both used in feeding livestock).
2. Use of yeast-based feeding with HISYSTEM(TM) Feeding System similar in fermentation processing like the well-known Japanese-based Ajinomoto for cattle, dairy, pigs and chickens (broilers & layers) and studied as to their physiological/biomolelcular basis and both productiveand reproductive parameters.
3. SCT or sugarcane tops, bagasse and paddy straw as FCR with perspectives in ensilage similar to those pointed out for water hyacinth (see: Armsdale Farms and Foods here on this website, for a listing) and fed with supplementation approaches using biproduct protein/energy and methods with ensilage to determine quality including nutritive value (NV) due to nitrogen (N) utilization. Improving organic matter (OM) digestibility is though solid-substrate fermentation (SSF) or ensilage (but of the 'dry' kind) with FCR.
4. Aquatic plants (e. g. water hyacinth, duckweed, seagrasses and assorted various aquatic plants) with perspectives in improving quality and NV in terms of processing (e. g. improving nutritive density) and ensilage for year-round and ease of mechanization in handling and feeding for long fibres for cattle, dairy, chickens and pigs. When this will take hold in the Philippine economy will be determined by socio-economic and socio-cultural factors including subsistence farming practices in their respective agro-ecological zones. Fish-Pond culture (brackish waters) will be used to recharge waterways and ponds with pipelined feed intake and waste into estuarine waters. Harvesting and pond management will be carried out by manual labour and machinery (e. g. pontoon-driven processing mechanisms) (e. g. John Deere may be employed).
The new so-called PNA Technology with conjugate (viz. or carrier) with microbial systems such as for functional food production, pharma and enzyme manufacturing, cropping systems and other horticultural systems including sub-hydroponics for various botanicals, food & animal fodders, and stem cell technology for transplantation or biopharma, as e. g. s., can be applied to the above outline.
Three breakthroughs are expected with development of: a) XL-Grow(TM) varieties (non-GMO) especially with growing premium on land use with its processing via pelleting and packaging for import/export business, b) bio-safe, covered and weather-adapted GMO facilities de veloped on land for pharma applications using our proposed anti-pollinating alkaloid agents and finally (c) the more lucrative use for energy biofuel manufacturing (e. g. bio-ethanol, bio-butannol and biokerosene).
