Acrocentric marker chromosome of unknown origin

A friend of mine who is a Public Health Nurse (equivalent

to a Health Visitor in the UK) same as my wife asked me to look on the Internet to see if there was any information. A short while ago they were informed that the approx. 1year old had a chromosome analysis that showed a small acrocentric marker chromosome of unknown origin, possibly originating from chromosome 13. But she has being trying to get some more information on this topic. 1. from her professional view point and 2. from a parents point of view. Apparently this is a rare occurrence ??? If you were able to point me in the right direction for some books, information or even a web site that would help to enlighten us on this topic.
