EMBL Conference: Biology and Pathology of the Malaria Parasite

  November 25, 2014

EMBL, Heidelberg
2015-05-11

Malaria remains one of the major global scourges of humanity. This conference series aims to address fundamental questions of the biology of the malaria parasite, its vector, and the disease that it causes. While the primary focus is on fundamental, rather than applied research, the central goal of all malaria research is ultimately to contribute towards disease reduction and elimination. Open and early sharing of technological and biological advances in the field through this conference series will maximize the ability of the field to translate those advances into public health impact.

Organized by: EMBL Heidelberg
Invited Speakers:

The conference series will bring together malaria researchers from Europe and overseas in an integrated and highly collaborated environment. The meeting will provide an enriched environment for researchers at all stages of their career, with a focus on allowing speaking opportunities for early stage researchers. Interactions with international leaders will be encouraged through three dynamic poster sessions and numerous networking opportunities. The meeting will offer an excellent opportunity for sharing ideas and for potential development of new worldwide collaborations.
