Venue and Application The conference will be held at University College London. Arrival information will be sent to registered participants approximately three weeks before the meeting. To register you will need to complete the registration form where you can supply your details, meal preference and abstract submission for posters.
Payment must be supplied separately using one of the methods detailed below. Registration Fees An early bird fee applies until 28 February 2009, and a late application fee will apply after 31st March 2009. Refunds can only be made in respect of cancellations received before 31st March 2009. Substitutions are possible at any time. Standard / Early-bird (to 28th February) RSC members £120 / £90 Non-members £140 / £110 Student/retired members £55 / £40 Late Booking Fee (after 31st March) £30 (£15 students/retired members) The fees include attendance at the sessions, lunch and refreshments. Student bursaries A number of bursaries are available to graduate students presenting posters, which include free registration plus up to £20 travel costs. Application should be made to the Paul Dalby (see below) by 10th January 2009, stating why attendance would be beneficial and enclosing the written support of the research supervisor. The Biotechnology Group is the focal point within the RSC for members who have an academic or industrial interest in the chemical aspects of biotechnology. New members of the Committee from both industry and academia are currently required to widen the area of its expertise. The Group has annually run conferences or symposia on a diverse range of topics, including Biotransformations, Plant and Microbial Metabolites as Drug Leads, Proteomics, and Glycomics. It also runs Courses with titles such as Biotechnology for Chemists, Freeze Drying of Biologicals and Pharmaceuticals, Protein Biotechnology in the 21st Century, and Understanding Polysaccharide Biotechnology.
